Phonics Revision

Lesson: English

Class: Year 1 Year: 2018 - 2019

Year 1 are working hard practising our Phonics!

We have been sorting real and monster words. This is to practise being able to tell the difference but also teaching ourselves to slow down and read the whole word carefully before reading aloud.

We know to look for any special friends and any sounds that could be read in more than one way. Then we read the word in our head and if it sounds like it makes sense we then read it out loud!

These are skills we have been busy using both at home and in school when reading.
