The Great Fire of London

Lesson: History

Class: Year 1 Year: 2018 - 2019

Year 1 have been enjoying our learning about the Great Fire of London in 1666.

We had a very exciting morning recreating 17th Century firefighting methods before enjoying a visit from the Eccleston Fire Brigade, who explained to us how they fight fires using modern methods. Did you know that the Fire Service was invented because of the Great Fire of London?

Thank you very much to the men and women of Eccleston Fire Service for an informative morning and for answering all of our many questions!
