Religious Education

We follow the locally agreed syllabus for Religious Education which is determined by St Helens SACRE (Standard Advisory Council on Religious Education). The syllabus is developed by the Lancashire Grid for Learning.

At the heart of Lancashire's syllabus is the quest to understand what it is to be human. By learning about and from religion we can become more open minded, respectful and achieve greater self-awareness. The skills and attitudes developed though RE can thus make a significant contribution to promoting British Values and developing community cohesion in Lancashire.

We respect the diverse beliefs of all children and parents and therefore acknowledge that you have the right to withdraw your child from all or part of Religious Education lessons. Please email your request to the school office for the attention of the headteacher, Mr Mugan, to disuss this matter further.
