Practical Maths - Year 1

Lesson: Maths

Class: Year 1 Year: 2017-18

Year 1 had a brilliant Maths lesson learning about half and quarter turns!
We used chalk to draw circles on the playground and used peer teaching to instruct our groups in which way to turn.

This was a great lesson to use collaborative learning within the Maths groups and the children loved being able to assess their friends' work by suggesting ways they could improve.

We then used our shapes to study rotations by giving instructions and drawing around the shape to see how the shape has changed.
