We follow the National Curriculum 2014. You can access information about the curriculum for Year 2 in the documents below. If you require any further information about the curriculum, you can access the Department for Education website, take a look at our Year 2 class page or contact school and request to speak to our Year 2 teachers.
Reading - We follow the Oxford Reading Tree reading scheme. It is recognised that children who read regularly at home make the most progress in reading. Therefore we would encourage all children to read at home each evening from a variety of books and sources, and would ask that the reading record books are completed.
Phonics - If children have not passed the Phonics Screening in Year 1, they will access Read, Write Inc in Year 2. This is a phonics scheme that is used throughout the infant department and is delivered most mornings.
